The Blues went through a rebrand in 2025 and with that they wanted a shiny new arena takeover for their goal song. The updated animation maintains the simplicity and themes from the previous version, while emphasizing musical instruments and leaning into the new colors, type, and logomarks.

When I designed the original iteration of the "The Blues Have The Urge Goal Song" animation it's main intention was to teach fans the new song and encourage them to sing along. From my experience working with professional sports teams I've learned fans generally don't love drastic change. So the updated version was meant to be an elevated take on the original without straying too far from the concept.
